a cold and rainy friday

after two warm days at the beginning of the week, the rest has been cold and today was rainy. today . . was the day we decided jack had to visit the vet. we've been cleaning his ears for two weeks now with special ear washing medicine, but they're still giving him problems. i thought that he would probably need an antibiotic and ear ointment. he often gets bacterial and yeast infections. i changed his diet about a year ago, and that helped up until now. i could begin giving him greens in his diet and that may help boost his immune system to fight the infections better. for the appointment today we were going to take him to our holistic vet, but she was away on vacation, so greg and i took jack to her local back-up. i liked this doctor a lot because she was very appreciative of how well jack is doing for his age! he's twelve, and that's very old for an english bulldog. (in this picture i think that he and greg look similar! i think it's funny when pets and owners start looking alike).

visiting the vet's office is a huge undertaking for jack. today was especially difficult for him as he had never been to the downstairs rooms, only the upstairs. it was all new and, being blind, it took him awhile to sniff things out and adjust. i also had to warn a few pet owners' dogs away, as jack will lunge and chomp into any animal that gets too close to his floppy jowls. when he got home he instantly plumped down on the bed and went to sleep. greg is sleeping here as he's working during the night because of a telephone move for several offices in his building.

i enjoyed the day today, even though it was filled with many chores (my sister and brother-in-law and nephew are staying over when they come in to see the show), as everyone was home doing what i call normal everyday activities, such as: sleeping, running math problems (in a turban to protect curls), and blow-drying one's hair . . 

it was a cozy day.

 outside the theatre it was cold and rainy. i watched the first act of the show this evening, and worked in the party/ginger dressing room for the second act.

i managed to make soup in the morning, and it was delicious to have when we returned home. korrina walked in around midnight again, and it was nice to hear about the audience and actors' antics at her play. ( also heard about all the blood she has to make . . bowls and bowls of it she says! well, there are twenty-one actors . . and it's a combination of two of shakespeare's plays with lots of fight scenes . . but i hope all that blood doesn't gross me out too much!)
