flying to toronto

greg woke me at 6 this morning and we were in the car at 6:45 . .

 to drive to la guardia.

chanda and greg were off to toronto for the national ballet of canada's ballet school audition.

chanda will dance, greg will watch . . they actually allow the parents to watch the audition. i find that intriguing and wonderful.

off on an exciting adventure! greg was actually in toronto a few years ago for work, but chanda has never been.

chanda sent some pics of the flight. i think this is queens and that they flew south first before heading north . .

over long island sound and "da bronx."

somewhere over . . new york . . or new england . . i'm not sure if they looked at the flight path which i think they sometimes give you. also the pilot occasionally comes on and says what you're flying over but i don't think they caught that information. maybe i'll have to ask them to pay more attention for the return flight . .

on the train from the airport into toronto.

outside the train station . .

national ballet banners on the station's facade.

eating almonds in the hotel room before finding a place to eat. greg can turn into a bear when he gets too hungry.

chanda was proud of herself for finding a healthy food cafe just around the corner, and enjoyed when the owners thought she was a local ballet student.

here's our dinner in nyc: morgana sauteed the shrimp in butter and garlic and steamed the kabocha squash i had picked up. it was so good. we watched a movie together, the intern, and i really enjoyed it.
