i was out early this morning to look after aurélien while kendall packed for a family visit as her nephew is getting married. it was fun to be with the little one again. above are some goldenrod sprigs i picked out from the green market this morning.
greg has been in ohio for a cousin's funeral . .
he visited his relatives' grave sites at greenhill cemetery just east of columbus in johnstown (this is his grandmother's family on his father's side).
chanda's great great grandmother with whom she shares a middle name, iona (musa's maiden name was piper).
musa's first husband; their youngest child, louise, was greg's grandmother.
he saw his brother and sister-in-law and many other family members he usually doesn't get to visit with. he will head home tomorrow; i just hope he doesn't run into too much rain. hurricane henri is heading north to long island and a lot of rain is supposed to sweep through new jersey and up into new york and northeastern new england. it's heading right for montauk and my sister in connecticut. i think nyc will get a lot of rain and possibly storm surge. it was just pouring a few moments ago.
