greg and i drove out east tuesday morning to meet my sister and brother-in-law for a few days together at the house (greg took three vacation days).

we ordered dinner in: calamari salad and mixed seafood with toasted italian bread . .
and played two rounds of may i . .

a windy day at the bay wednesday morning . . so no umbrella . . (yesterday it blew over and almost hit me while i was napping).

exploring north neck point . .
where the h.m.s. culloden ran aground during a severe storm in 1781 while trying to intercept french ship at newport, rhode island. it's the only local shipwreck on the national register of historic shipwrecks and is a protected site.

it's a beautiful ship and it was wonderful to be able to walk around it. (the large mast was put together with douglas fir logs.)

warren and i went for a morning swimming at the bay thursday morning (i wish i could do this every day).
it was windy!
but it was energizing and refreshing . . (the water wasn't too cold).
a walk into town after cleaning and packing . .
where we met a local photographer we follow on instagram and facebook (i bought one of his photos of the beach on the fourth of july). here they are texting my nephew adam to say hi as we figured out they both knew each other from adam's last visit to the local galleries.
observing several crows squawking at a smaller bird in the pine tree (who finally flew away from the harassment).
grabbing a local paper . .
and lunch at hooked!
finally on the road a few hours later . . we stopped at hampton chutney for treats . .
and ran into terrible traffic which we tried to drive around . . but instead got caught in even worse traffic (an hour and a half moving only about one mile . . it was frustrating) . .
and didn't get home until around 10 pm . . you never know when you will run into heavy summer traffic.
