morgana, chanda and i went with christine this evening to see the san francisco ballet perform cinderella at the new york state theatre . . alias the david h. koch theatre . .
it was truly a spectacular production with a magical coach and lyrical dancing and hilarious antics . .
the new york reviews were not positive, so i was a little worried, but we enjoyed it immensely. christopher wheeldon was the choreographer and he took new liberties with the prokofiev score that i think irritated many traditional and classical minded balletomanes. happily, i didn't know any better . . chanda was aware, but it didn't bother her.
it was a great night . . and the ending of a very busy day for christine who began it on a boat ride to see the statue of liberty . . morgana was rather exhausted also since she's been attending a dance intensive with betty and fritz every morning . . she does look a little sleepy in this picture . .
