family meal

late morning sunday found me working on rolling out meatballs with cricket and pluto supervising.

he's very reliable when it comes to being in the way.

pluto wouldn't mind being the official taster.

it was five hours ahead in london and morgan and harley were watching the princess bride. they sent me this video at the exact same time i was taking the photo of pluto.

we were going to meet ron and andy by the river at 43rd street and walk downtown but it was so grey and cloudy they ended up driving and greg helped andy find a parking spot. they brought along a delicious apple sour cream pie from the little pie company shop for dessert. it was a fun evening and we played a hilarious game of '70's trivia they had given me for my birthday several years ago.

it was such a dark day! (especially after the sunshine we've been having.)

the michaelmas daisies are beginning to fade . . 

i also made garlic bread which i hadn't done in years . . my dad used to make it . . in fact he used to make spaghetti and meatballs often for us. my aunt rose, ron's mom, also used to make delicious italian meals for us when they lived on 86th street in brooklyn. i think we were all feeling nostalgic and craving a family get together after the past week.

(chanda wasn't feeling well and had a very bad cough and so stayed in her room and worked on some school projects.)

sunday family get together

 we had a fun time after online church service this morning. at 2 pm we zoomed with korrina (who took a very short break while at work), morgan and jenny. 

 i had created about fourteen questions for a family trivia game. examples were:

where does daddy like to swim?

what was the first thing morgana packed when it was announced that we would be moving from brooklyn?

what book did chanda find to read one summer at jack's coffee shop in amagansett?

who else in our extended family has feet like korrina and chanda?

what was the location of grandpa pom pom's tavern in nyc in 1911?

what kind of dog did grandpa pom pom have?

what kind of dog would mom like to have now, as a friend for pluto?

what famous university did jenny once attend, and where is it in relation to london?

korrina wore a special pair of shorts to our last full family vacation on cape cod. what did they say and where was the saying?

who else came along on that vacation?

it was fun making up the questions . . morgan and jenny won, which made morgan very happy. korrina ran off to work and the rest of us chatted awhile as the sun set in richmond, where the two londonites were calling from.
