we were just going to leave for home after having breakfast with nana, but c talked m and i into having one last swim. so we made sure the car was all packed and then headed to south lake for the swim . . and a sketch. c was ambitious and did a lovely panorama of the shoreline with the tide going out. i kept it simple with a slipper shell, and m sketched a footprint. afterwards, we sadly said good-bye to south lake and to nana, herded jack into the car and headed home. yes, there was lots of traffic, but we did a farm stand stop and a coop stop which broke up the trip and made it fun. we have lots of food for the week! however, we will be losing k to ferry beach, maine, and her dad to florida, so don't have as many of us to eat it up . .

we also stopped in water mill to finally see the mill. g and i had bought cornmeal there years ago. unfortunately, due to current bureaucratic red tape, they no longer grind and sell the meal. so sad! but we did buy a ticket for their beautiful quilt raffle (titled, midnight sun).
