the sky this evening as the nor'easter draws closer . . 

chanda prepared dinner while i was out taking photos. the wind is howling now and i can hear the rain starting. chanda supposedly has work in the morning . . i wonder what the storm will be like at that time.

kendall was visiting aurélien's school this evening, so aurélien and i had dinner together and played with the new train switches he received for his birthday in june. afterwards, greg and i had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants that just reopened following some renovations. (i guess my dinner with aurélien was more like aperitivo.)

the water was really rolling tonight . .

the sun was warm but the breeze was very chilly so we didn't stay long after my swim (as you can see, greg is quite bundled up comparatively). However, i did take a moment to sketch in my nature journal book.

my aloe plant and its babies are doing very well. the one here at the apartment is not as bright of a green or as big, but it is growing slowly.

we picked up dinner from a favorite place and had: manhattan clam chowder, cole slaw, fried clams with the bellies and fish tacos.

we ate earlier today as chanda was going out to meet a friend and i wanted to visit the burdick chocolate shop to pick up a bag of ginger chocolates. we walked through the park so i could drop off a few bags of compost. it was such a pretty sunset.

returning home we passed this crowd by the restaurant chanda works at. they're always very busy at night. (i was enjoying an iced chocolate drink from burdick!)
