she plied it this time . . which means she spun two strands together . . plying can sound a little complicated. for example, if she spins her drop spindle in a counter-clockwise direction, her single strand of yarn would have an "s" twist. if she spins it in a clockwise direction, it would have a "z" twist. whatever twist your yarn has, you want to ply it in the opposite direction. i'm curious as to which direction she normally spins her drop spindle. i'll have to ask her tomorrow.
