lord and taylor

after ice skating we walked to fifth avenue to see lord and taylor's holiday windows.

i loved the cardinals this year . . and the minature books and papers, and the hourglass!

lord and taylor is the only department store left whose windows i really enjoy seeing each holiday season. saks fifth avenue dresses up their windows, but it's usually in a very loud and fancy manner, without the fine details you can see here. however, my friend carol says that this year saks' windows are very nice. i'll have to get by to visit and take pictures.

the theme this year was a visit to the usa, germany, switzerland, france and london.

you can see the swiss ski lodge in this scene.

i agree with carol . . it would be fun working on these windows!

of course the central park zoo scene was one of our favorites.

carol took us to the tinsel trading company store after looking at the windows. we had never been here before, and she enjoyed hearing us exclaim about the beautiful vintage trims they sell.

i think they are looking at a special copper coil thread . .

we passed two bears further west on the street!

the weather was perfect for them . .
