i had a lot to celebrate after the dental appointment. my dentist was able to fill my very bad cavity and i didn't need a root canal. it wasn't as close to the nerve as she thought. she did say that it might need more work if i develop a toothache, so i need to continue with strengthening my immune system (which means that i need to limit my caffeine, sugar and wheat intake and continue taking vitamin c, vitamin d3, magnesium and mineral salts . . oh, and the bone broths . . ).
i was still so swollen from the novocaine . .
morgana and i had the smorgasboard: salmon, two types of herring, meatballs, cucumber salad and beet salad with watercress.
chanda had the swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, red cabbage and lingonberries. the restaurant is called smorgas chef and their vegetables and meat are supplied by blenheim hill farm in the catskills. we were impressed with the quality of the food and the excellent service. everyone was so nice.
the waitress recommended the "princess" cake with marzipan topping for dessert. it was amazing!
afterwards we looked in the gift shop and picked out a few gifts for greg for his birthday (dark roast coffee, a jar of lingonberries and a beautiful tin of ginger spice cookies). we reminisced about a santa lucia festival we attended with other homeschoolers years ago when they were little.

barney's! the store reopened in it's old location on seventh avenue. (i see now that they have quite a few locations, not just in new york city, but across the states.) we just had to peek in . .
we ended up walking through the designer clothing section where nothing was under $250!
