one of korrina's christmas presents from greg and i was to go shopping for a new pair of jeans. we finally were able to meet up to do so on this chilly day.
we met at union square where korrina picked out some greens and radishes to take home for a salad. (i already had collards and kale in my refrigerator.)
it was a little after three pm but a few farmers still had their stands up.
we first stopped at the j. crew store, but they didn't have what she was looking for so we continued on to the gap store where she found many pairs to try on and i found one . .
she tried on the 90's loose jeans and i tried on the 70's flare . . very apropos! we each left with a pair, though i'll need to take mine up about two to three inches. we thought of walking up to the levi's store on 34th street but decided to leave that for another day and stop at the eataly market instead for hors d'oeuvres and a chat at their open counter/bar. it felt nice to sit and talk, and watch the shoppers and workers going back and forth from the produce section to the cheese section, and from the pasta restaurant to the pesce restaurant. as the place filled with more patrons, we left to go home - she to go uptown and i to go downtown. along the way home, i stopped at kawa for sushi, miso soup and a salad for chanda and greg for dinner. i was going to pick up a few things at trader joe's, but of course the line stretched all around the store to the produce section.
