i can't believe it's september already. morgana began sorting through old clothes and papers today . .
and we continued our game of may i . . this time greg went out before i could even get my hand down so i ended up with 125 points, but then i managed to get down for the second hand with only ten points before morgana went out. i think we still have two hands to go in order to finish a full game. i can't believe we used to play a full game in one evening with my parents! hmm . . i just looked back at several posts from 2010 and 2011, and i see i've written that we only played a round or two each night. funny how our minds remember things . . 2010 and 2009 (i wonder if we played a full game on this 2009 date?)

as the evening wore on, the wind intensified and the rain poured down. chanda had actually gone out to a special game cafe to play dungeons and dragons. she wore her raincoat and took a big umbrella. she was home at 11:30 pm and said that it wasn't so bad! she was oblivious to the downpour, and our neighborhood didn't suffer the terrible flooding that happened in the bronx and in queens, staten island and new jersey. cars were swallowed up, and basement apartments and subways were inundated. we were all watching twitter videos people had been posting. here's a montage from the sun (thankfully, korrina was home safe from work and didn't get caught too badly):
