better spirits

 after another rough night, morgana is doing better. we visited the er yesterday and got new medication. it took awhile to take effect and she's still very itchy, but we think it's a little better. chanda, greg and i took a ride to ditch . . it's cold again, and windy. tonight we're watching it's a wonderful life before watching the ball come down in times square.have a great new year's celebration . . if you're staying up . . .

 

 

monday dinner

 

 greg came out today, and we decided to take morgana to the southampton hospital ER. the doctor there diagnosed her staph as MRSA and prescribed clindamycin . .

 

 on the way home i finally thought of what i would like to make for dinner for all of us: split pea soup with organic hot dogs. we stopped at king kullen in bridgehampton so i could get the ingredients.

 

 it really hit the spot . .

 the calendar comes with his new yorker subscription, which my parents get him every year. my mother also loves aplets and cotlets and always stuffs our stockings full of them!

visiting nana

we've been visiting my parents, and celebrated christmas with my sister and her family on friday before they left to visit my brother-in-law's family.  korrina came out saturday and returned home today. tomorrow it's greg's turn. we'll stay for new year's eve and return new year's day.

unfortunately, morgana and chanda have been sick and have been quarantined to the downstairs. chanda has had a fever and is slowly recovering. morgana is not doing as well. she has a painful and itchy rash which may be staph . . not good. she's been on medication but is not responding well. tomorrow morning i'll meet greg at the emergency room in south-ampton. not the best to be here when all are so sick. . too many germs floating around . . even jack is restless and doing poorly . . his kidneys are failing . . it's only a matter of time for him . .

korrina's visit . .

 korrina arrived by jitney saturday night . . 9ish pm.

 today we took a walk along the beach . . 

and were able to sit and have tea and coffee at the health food store.

 morgana and chanda were quarantined in the basement . . so it was just korrina and i with nana and nonno . . 

she opened her christmas AND birthday gifts . . 

it was such a nice visit . . i dropped her at the station sunday night. she caught the 7:33 pm train to jamaica and changed there for the subway back to bushwick.
