every other tuesday i pick up fresh veggies from a local program similar to the one i used to do with korrina, and i always pass the puppets created by ralph lee that are on display (my friend ron used to work with his puppets years ago with the mettawee river theatre company). 

(ellen uses several ralph lee masks for her dance titled "rainforest.")

morning shenanigans, baking and postcards

zuzu's morning routine . . 

making a plum cake with plums bought on monday (after korrina had texted me to let me know they were available at the green market) . .  

so i walked over and purchased eighteen of them . . and made a proper cake (i had tried it with round plums and it just wasn't as good.)

i stopped at the rubin museum in the late afternoon as it's their last week. they're closing their nyc space and will now have specific exhibitions in different cities all over the world. i think their current exhibition will be moving to san francisco once it closes on sunday. i colored a flag for their sunday evening good-bye flag ceremony.

dinner was steamed sweet potatoes and bok choy with brown rice . . 

and thankfully i found the roll of postcard stamps that the cats had been playing with (it had rolled under my desk). i wrote out fifty postcards to georgia voters from the organization students for voting justice.

i bought plums last saturday at the green market. i left them out all week on the windowsill hoping they would ripen, but they didn't, so my plum cake was a bit tart, but still very tasty.

so good . . 

ellen was excited because she had found a place that made their own ice cream. i was surprised to see that it was directly across the street from where she lives. we had peach, vanilla and chocolate . . all so good.

plum cake time of year . .

korrina sent me home yesterday with plum cake that she had made. it was incredibly delicious, and the plums were perfectly sweet and juicy.

greg picked up prune plums at the green market for me and i was able to make our yearly plum cake.

it's my grandmother's recipe and it's always so good!
