lunch with greg

 while chanda was busy with a twelfth night rehearsal, morgana and i walked downtown to have lunch with greg.

 it was a really nice day for a walk since it wasn't too hot.

 time inc. used to be situated in midtown, but they just recently completed a move to brookdale place in tribeca; battery park city. his new building overlooks the river and he likes the layout and the big windows. i didn't think the lunch room was quite as nice as the old building, but the food was the same.

 he's right across the street from the french fry tower.

 along the way home, morgana and i stopped to look at black pants in j. crew for her new job tomorrow. she's supposed to wear a black button down shirt (which they will give her), black pants and black shoes with black trouser socks.

 the j. crew in brookdale place had two pairs of pants that were a possibility, but we decided to look in at the soho j. crew to see if they had a better size.

 we stopped at duane park patisserie on the way.

 i had a slice of cheese cake, but morgana had thin butter cookies with chocolate icing.

at the met with grandma and grandpa

 we started out the day by taking the train to the time inc. building to meet greg for lunch.

 but first we ran across the green market at rockefeller center where korrina bought some delicious cherry tomatoes.

 lunch with greg. after going through security we all picked out salads or burgers or tacos. i had sushi and shrimp tempura.

 greg had to get back to work soon . . 

 we we were on our way uptown on the A train to 86th street . . 

 to walk across the park to the museum.

 our first stop was the greek and roman wing . . 

 and then we walked through africa in search of the european impressionist paintings . .

 morgana acted as tour guide . . 

 but she got a bit turned around and grandma and grandpa and i had to sit down and laugh a bit while we waited for her to come back with instructions. we couldn't help but wonder if she had left a trail of bread crumbs . . but with chanda's help they figured it out and we found the impressionists . .

 it was a long day and we were all ready to hop on the bus for the ride home . . 

 where i made fettucini alfredo with faicoo's italian sausages and a salad! (can't believe i did that)

we were all very hungry . . !

working at home

 today both greg and chanda worked together in the living room. chanda put her renaissance writing into her lesson book, 

and greg dealt with an emergency internet service lapse at work (he had taken a vacation day, but something usually always comes up).

midtown at lunchtime

 today morgana, chanda and i met greg for lunch at his work. they have a nice cafeteria with reasonably priced and good quality food. 

 (chanda in front of the wintergarden theatre . . we couldn't walk by capezio without stopping in, which is a good thing as she picked up a turquoise halter top which is needed for her costume for her modern dance class's group piece). 

lunch in the cafeteria . . greg, morgana and i had the indian vandaloo and somosas while chanda had a burrito.

take your kid to work day

morgana began the day practicing her guitar for a concert in the evening. then she got ready to join greg and chanda on their way to the time-life building for a day at greg's work.

 all set to go.

 

the children were divided into three groups and each group had a different project they participated in. then they met greg for lunch.

chanda worked on putting together a magazine online (what links and advertisements to put in, and how the article was written and then laid out with photographs).

meanwhile, korrina and i went to la bergamote for coffee and a pear tart, before heading to 29th street and the dare wright exhibit.

 after seeing the lonely doll photos, korrina and i walked home along the high line.

a rat!

i went to meet my friend marisa for lunch (at landbrot, a lovely new german cafe on 7th avenue), while korrina went home to get ready for her script analysis class.

morgana, chanda and greg returned home around 5:30 for dinner, and then we all left again for morgana's guitar concert. the quartet played leo brower's cuban landscape with rain, and morgana also did a solo by mateo carcassi called etude #7. she ran off to her show at HB (greg was outside in the car waiting for her), while chanda and i watched the rest of the concert. (and it rained, which it always seems to do for guitar concerts!)
