friday lunchtime

 

we had leftovers from greg's birthday dinner at sevilla for lunch today.

the aroma of the paella and mariscada with green sauce taunted cricket . . 

and he was a bit peeved about our refusal to let him partake of our mollusks.

greg and i had lunch at a local pizza place i've been wanting to try. their pizza was delicious! so flavorful with a thin crust. they also had delicious italian sodas.

we shared a pesto pizza and a caprese salad . .

looking out the window to the museum across the street . . 

harley and morgan heading home on the elizabeth line last night . . they had cleaned out the outdoor storage areas at the new place. it sounds like it was not an easy task . . very dirty and dusty. they showered at the soho flat and had noodles for dinner.

cat antics and knitting projects

 
we came out yesterday to mow . . and i weeded . . no sight of the little fawn this time.

my latest knitting: a shawl with yarn by fibre gentili in the pattern just trust the process by tré liz (yarn dyed by tré liz also).

korrina sent photos of her latest project . . she's putting in pockets with yarn she purchased during the brooklyn yarn crawl.

so beautiful!

a little bit about wednesday

the day began very grey but the sky steadily cleared and it grew very humid and warm. tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler.

i had the most delicious lunch . . avocado and a sunnyside up egg on einkorn toast.

cricket's toy mouse looks very real . . 

he's either looking for crumbs or a bug . . 

chanda had a fun time seeing the ballet tonight.

saturday chores

it was very grey today . . and there was so much rain. it just poured nonstop. greg went out to the green market for granola, but the apple people (who sell the granola) were not there. he came back with a lemon scone, two chocolate croissants and a morning glory muffin. later on we had eggs and chicken apple sausage for lunch. i sorted through a lot of drawers and many piles that had accumulated in various places. we now have several bags that can go to the thrift store bin, and several items that can go out on the sidewalk to be picked up by anyone who is "stooping." (we'll put them out tomorrow when it isn't so wet.) chanda did some writing for school and greg solved some tech issues for work.

we played a game of "apples to apples" after lunch.

i won this time and greg is complaining that he won't play again because he lost (he likes to tease).

chanda and pluto:

i was trying to take a photo of pluto amidst the mess on my bed, but he wouldn't pose for me. he just kept preening himself. chanda came to the rescue, but it's a funny pic.

this is sweet . . 

after chanda left, greg and i worked until 7:30 and then finally made some ravioli and a salad for dinner. it was a late meal.

i walked downtown in the morning to meet greg and visit the department of motor vehicles to deal with some paperwork for the car. it was a pretty morning for which i was thankful, but the walk home grew grey and rainy. i was glad i had brought my umbrella for the last few blocks.

thursday afternoon

korrina stopped by before work and chanda stopped by after class for a lunch together (i had picked everything up yesterday afternoon). it was nice to catch up and give them their goodies from our travels (some honey from florida and pepper bacon and butter from the amish market in annapolis from their aunt cindy). korrina is working on crocheting a summer top and chanda is in the middle of finals. we're trying to make some summer plans together . . and i can't believe we're in the second week of may already.

getting some water before heading uptown (after making lunch) . . (chanda went all the way uptown and then remembered she didn't have therapy today after all . . but she did have a meeting at school afterwards).

wednesday milly walk

and lunch with chanda. i treated her to a hero sandwich at our butcher shop, and then we went and picked up a few things at the health food store. we also popped in to feed the neighbor's cats she is taking care of.
