chanda walked by the paris hôtel de ville, which has been paris' city hall since 1357. it's a beautiful, enormous building with a carousel nearby.

an equestrian statue of etienne marcel, a provost of the merchants of paris during the middle 1300's. (the cherry trees are in bloom!)
continuing on her way to morgana's school and notre dame, she stopped at shakespeare and company to use the bathroom and for a green tea kombucha. i have a scobie here at home and have a black tea fermenting now, but i haven't tried green tea yet.
more notre dame bells . . i think she's been attempting to be up in the church when the bells ring at noon, but i'm not sure if she's been successful.
today they visited one of my favorite yarn shops in paris: la bien aimée. the owner is from kansas and also has a little cafe around the corner from the store.
admiring the skeins of merino yarn . .

i think she chose this to use for a shawl we're supposed to join morgana in knitting . .
these are the three colors she plans to use. we already have a skein of the yellow here at home.
tea and lunch at the cafe . .
such beautiful pottery.
an incredible feast!
the nike of samothrace at the louvre. this made such an impression on me when i first saw it (in 1982). i remember walking up a staircase and then stopping in awe while everyone around me continued on their way.
