yesterday afternoon at noon i met kendall at her apartment and helped her load up the car to drive upstate. today was the official court date to sign documents making the adoption official.
settling in to feed aurélien after the car ride . . our friend janine was on her way also, she drove up after work.
kendall was a bit nervous about today and wanted to make sure aurélien looked his best, so a bath was de rigeur!
little sweet pea is all clean and ready for the signing! (and for bed.)

janine was supposed to go into the courtroom with kendall for the signing, but the judge requested only immediate family members. kendall's immediate family joined in by skype. i like this photo of aurélien and the judge looking at each other.

i drove home with janine (she had to be back for work on friday) and we said good-bye to kendall, aurélien and minerva (do you see her on the bottom left?).

janine and i arrived at her place (which happens to be on the cutest little lake in connecticut) around 7:30/45 pm.
it was beautiful and peaceful . . i had never seen janine's place before, so it was especially nice to visit.
janine's late husband, robert, is on the left in this photo. he was a writer and director and is here talking with wynton marsalis.
janine pulled out taquitos and cookies and we had a feast before greg arrived . .
her home is so cozy!
greg arrived around 9:00 and had something to eat also . . it was that italian hospitality!
we said good-bye to janine and headed home along the lake drive. we still had a ways to go . . and didn't get home until 10:30/11.
