we said good-bye to aunt kathy and uncle warren and drove home today. we passed through middletown and stopped at the health food store there and loaded ourselves with tea and coffee for the ride. morgana also found flip flops. oh! before we left marlborough they made me stop at the taylor'd touch and told me to stay with the car. they came out with the above gift. chanda would have been happy to have me open it immediately, but i wanted to sit with the pretty wrapping for a few hours, so i said i'd open it at home.
isn't she sweet? she's a willowtree fairy. this particular one offers a prayer, a tree (as the card which accompanied her is worded). she sits on our windowsill to guard the tree spirits that still come to visit, and to guard any new tree spirits that wish to grow below. maybe she can even help our dear pansies, who are too tiny from not enough sun, and too bare from hungry cats.
