morgana and i began the morning at the ice rink where she had her skating lesson (chanda stayed home to rest, as she was feeling very tired). when we got back, we sang our advent songs as rehearsals had ended so late sunday and monday that we hadn't taken the time.

we also had our annual homeschooling craft fair today. morgana made wands with velvet pouches.
korrina sent along soaps for morgana and chanda to sell for her (she had a babysitting job and couldn't attend).
she had also made several cowls.
someone bought the beautiful yellow malabrigo for isabella!
and chanda made knitted cats.
i prepared a cinnamon ornament craft.
i made a dough out of equal parts cinnamon and applesauce. the children rolled it out and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter . . just like making cookies. we even sprinkled the dough with cinnamon to keep the roller from sticking.
this is thea with her christmas tree. i also provided ribbon for them to string the ornament when it dried. they took it home on a cardboard paper in a wax bag.
joanna and elsa are working on their felt birds . .
i have the parts to sew at home . . there's never time at the fair . . there's never time at home . . i think i'd like to remedy that!
everyone pitches in to clean up. this was my first year that i really felt like "my craft" was a big success. my table was constantly busy, and i went through an entire box of wax bags . . 60 crafters! everyone seemed very pleased with their ornament, and many enjoyed the aroma . . and the mess!
we're always the last to leave. my friend carol is in the orange sweater. she's the organizer of the fair, and she always does a fantastic job. our friend janet has already left for an appointment. she had three crafts she prepared. we've been doing this fair for nine years, carol says. i can't believe that . .

after this we headed over to the theatre at 68th street and lexington. it was a . . tiring day.
Your craft looks very nice. How long do the ornaments have to dry? Do you put them into the oven for drying?

Deletei just leave the ornaments out to dry. it can take 24 hours or longer if the child rolled the dough very thick! the girls did very well at the fair. chanda sold all her cats (ten of them), and four potholders; korrina sold two cowls and all her soaps; and morgana sold a pencil case, one wand, a knitted bag, and two stationary kits.
