a little bit of rain after a museum visit

i visited the whitney today specifically to see lee krasner's the seasons (which i loved), painted in 1957 (oil and house paint on canvas). 
 




the jane street garden was open . . (and we didn't realize it, but a storm was slowly approaching)
 


greg met me and we ate at tavern on jane since it started to rain (a little sun shower which kept us from walking to bus stop cafe . . )
 
greg was tracking the storm with accuweather's radar on his cell phone . . 
 


chanda and emily passed by. they said the were on their way to eat at sandbar on hudson (which used to be high street). you can see their two little figures silhouetted at the end of the block.

    Looks like you’re having a whole heap of fun looking after Aurelian 🙂. Hope the fires die down soon, what a mess we have made of our beautiful earth 😕❤️❤️

      I'm just shocked that governments and corporations have no motivation to clean up their act - it's small non-profits and our indigenous peoples who are leading the fight. You and I and many others sign petitions and write letters and donate money, while they physically put their bodies in the way of bulldozers that are digging up forests and rivers. It's insane and very disturbing.

      The second painting was by julie mehretu, and the blankets were part of a piece by Marie Watt titled Skywalker/Skyscraper (Axis Mundi) - it refers to the Mohawk ironworkers who helped build the skyscrapers - the blankets connecting the iron i-beam perched on top to the ground.

      (The blankets serve as a connection between the iron i-beam perched on top of them and the ground upon which they rest.)
