i was up late last night, completing the prep work for the crafts i was hosting. i was cutting 31 inch long strands of pearl cotton floss for the lavender sachets. morgana had the brilliant idea of rolling them and laying them out with the cut out hearts.
i thought i looked nice, even though i was unhappy with my 100 percent holland wool felt that i had purchased online. it was just too thin. i expected it to be thicker, but it was too late to return. i suppose i should have gone for the 3mm thickness, rather than the 1mm.
they still looked nice! i love combining red with powder blue.
the other table we set up was pomander balls made with cloves, lady apples and clementines.
it was nice seeing the young people gathered round it . .
the apples were very juicy!
afterwards, they were tied with red ribbon.
one of my favorite crafts that my friend carol usually hosts each year, is making gift tags.
you draw a design on ummm . . . what's it called . . styrofoam! i think my friend gets them from meat containers? i'm not sure! she probably knows of a craft store where you can just buy it . . like michael's.
roll some ink over it . .
turn it upside down and press it on a cut-out tag and . . there you go. you just need to punch a hole and tie it onto the gift.

she picked up the fresh greens early in the morning at the green market, i think. it was very popular:

Gorgeous crafts, all that hard work and such a treat for anyone purchasing gifts for either themselves or their families.
