after rehearsing, morgana went to her friend camille's house to design her costume. camille is a very talented seamstress, just like her mom janet. i hear the material was very difficult to work with (it's a silk chiffon).
chanda had her audition today. she made it through the first two cuts, and then i was so ready to go home. it was four pm, and we had been there since noon. when they announced the final round of dancers for the call-back tomorrow, she was very excited to hear her name called. tomorrow they will get to meet and work with ms. stroman. she needs to be there at ten am . . and be prepared to stay until three. i don't know if her feet will hold out. she was so sore and tired at the end. and then she had ballet class! and it was observation day. i'll post the pics tomorrow. here she is running a combination she had just learned while the first group is in the audition room. i like the pose of the cleaning lady on the left (she had been talking with some students) . . we were at the alvin ailey studios on 55th street and ninth avenue.
i kept myself busy at the audition by knitting on chanda's friend ella's bat mitzvah gift.

it
was incredibly humid and warm today. it felt like the end of june. now
this evening, as i'm writing this, there is a very cool breeze blowing.
but it's supposed to feel like 80 degrees again tomorrow.

I've enjoyed catching up with you! Morgana's headbands are just lovely, hope the audition goes well for Chanda... try and put your feet up this weekend, eh?
