the first of the season! greg went to the green market this morning for eggs, and came back with strawberries (along with the eggs). chanda and i are very excited to, once again, have fresh, local strawberries.
i haven't been on the computer this week as we ran out of space for all the photos i take. greg picked up and installed a new external hard drive and transferred over a huge photo library that was on the mac mini. he also made sure everything was backed up. now i have much more room to work and if anything is lost, we should be able to retrieve it from the back up. is it really so important to back up all our ephemera: photos and letters, knitting patterns and email conversations? how long can we keep things for? everything is in cyperspace, but in reality it's not. it all sits on machines in a temperature controlled room somewhere here on earth.
well, i have plenty of lovely photos of flowers and city scenes. i even have a studio rehearsal with chanda . . i'll post in spurts between cleaning the apartment (my sister and brother-in-law are coming for chanda's modern dance recital concerts next weekend), catching up on the news with my neighbor (one of our neighbors died of cancer last week), going to the ballet (coppelia with nycb!), working on one of the five knitting projects i've started, reading rachel carson and another interesting book about the stars that chanda found at the library, and cooking dinner.
