lunch time!
earl grey tea and chocolate . .
there are so many new exhibits we haven't seen, as we haven't visited in months.
we made our way to the asian section for the poetry of nature: edo paintings from the fishbein-bender collection.
shibata zeshin (1807-1891), egrets and crows . . late 19th century, colored lacquer, white pigment and gold leaf on paper.
a myriad of mynah birds! late 17th century . . momoyama (1573-1615), ink, color and gold on paper.
yosa busan (1716-1783), travels through mountains and fields, ink and color on silk.

Those birds are beautiful! What is the very last picture you took? Weren't you hungry after just a cup of tea and some chocolate?
ReplyDeleteWe shared pasta with tomato sauce and roasted peppers! I just forgot to snap a pic :) The last picture is part of "travels through mountains and fields." Isn't it beautiful?
DeleteOh, that is good to know that you also had some food. I had been wondering how you could manage with just tea and chocolate until evening. Yes, that is very pretty, so delicate and well composed.
DeleteIs it also so hot by you? We have a heat advisory. Not sure how much cleaning we will get done today with those temperatures. Jonathan and Charlotte just left for another rehearsal for their Silver Lake performance next week. Peter left to practice organ: He is the organist tomorrow. He must have caught a cold in Michigan. He does not feel good.
I hope Peter feels better soon. This heat is not fun . .
