visiting with nana

we got to watch several flocks of geese flying west. i enjoyed hearing their honking as they flew past. it was rather cold and grey outside. we didn't stay out too long as the wind really blew a chill through us. mom, especially, felt very cold. she kept saying her fingers were freezing today, and that she couldn't feel them.

we settled in the warm library room, but were sad that there wasn't the usual roaring fire in the fireplace today. i spoke with the receptionist who said they had tried three times to get it going, without success. i actually felt very pleased that others were as concerned as i was to have a fire! i'm hopeful for tomorrow!

we read through two valentine's cards and one letter from my cousins and nephew that she had just received in the day's mail.

jason had sent two boxes of chocolates, as they were both too cute to pass up. i grabbed the bulldog one to have with the lilac heart chocolates we had brought. we had lunch in the cafe room, like we did with morgana a few weeks ago. mom wasn't happy with the butternut squash soup. it just didn't taste right to her. i said i would bring chicken soup from whole foods tomorrow. she's always liked their's. (she did enjoy her last chocolate covered cello's cherry and popped the whole candy into her mouth!)

back at my sister's, we finished the butternut squash soup with a roast chicken and salad, and had an early birthday celebration for greg (his birthday is monday). kathy and warren had picked up an apple pie to which warren added coffee ice cream for greg. needless to say, he was a happy camper.
