odds and ends
it's been such a busy week. morgana and chanda have been attending their dance classes, doing schoolwork out of their workbooks, studying with online linney latin and the rosetta stone while helping our friend janet with last minute costume alterations. i've also been at the theatre every night taking pictures and then staying up late to edit them, making me much too tired during the day to accomplish anything worthwhile. i'm writing now at the 92nd street Y, where morgana is performing her modern dance piece again for an nyc teen choreography retrospective (shown here with another of her teacher's students who also performed her own dance, amelia). she wishes she was at the guys and dolls production watching her friend deychen perform the lead role. she saw the show last night, but deychen is so wonderful in the part that she would rather watch her perform than perform herself! below are some pics from the week when we met friends for lunch on monday (and had delicious gelato) and helped a friend sew ribbons and elastic on her first pair of pointe shoes . . . i also received a beautiful beeswax candle for my sewing help! korrina has been the busy and amazing stage manager, and deychen has been the lovely sarah in guys and dolls.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad all the performances are going well! How many more do you have? Do you take the pictures for yourself or for somebody else? I hope you'll get some more sleep soon.
hi eva! actually, chanda is the expert pointe shoe seamstress! i took the pics for the cast and the director and for my friend janet to have a record of her costumes. i've been uploading them onto picasa every night, and will also supply janet and the director with a dvd of photos. luckily (and sadly!), the show is now over and we can get back to our normal routine! i'd also like to get in bed within the next half hour . . i do need more sleep!
DeleteChanda! Then she should open a business in that. She could make some YouTube tutorials :). Are you getting paid for all your picture work? Our lives are chaotic right now also. We have Seussical practice every day. Luckily it's next door, but they eat away from our homeschooling time.
