rainy day sunday

jack slept all day, and finally had to walk in the rain and come back in sopping wet. he was not happy and looked rather pathetic until we dried him off.

we read our books all day (korrina was intrepid, and braved the rain to go to a thrift store in brooklyn with a friend) and played cards . . may i. i've been playing this game with my parents and the girls for a few years now . . there's one round where you can go down and out of the game in one play. i've seen my dad do this . . and morgana . . but i've never been able to accomplish it . . until tonight!! i was rather pleased with myself, as i thought i had really messed things up by not taking a "may i" for an ace of hearts that would have completed my second straight (in the center). but i got lucky and picked up a queen of clubs which moved my joker into the ace spot, and out first for that round of the game. we still have one more round to go.
