we went to tenebrae service this evening. it's always quiet and contemplative and ends in darkness with the church bell tolling thirty three times. last night was a full moon and tonight is the first phase of the waning gibbous.
at the hospital today i began knitting my portland pullover sweater with shelter yarn on size 7 needles while my mom and i had lunch with my dad. we had salami sandwiches and brown cow chocolate yogurts. he had roast beef and mashed potatoes and orange juice. well, he had only a few bites, but that's a big deal these days. (he did eat all his chocolate ice cream.) we shared the remainder of the munson's chocolates. tomorrow he'll be transferred to the rehab next to my mom, which we're all very happy about.
We saw the moon rising last night, big and orange and wonderful. Because we were driving, we could not take a picture. It also kept going back into the clouds a lot.
ReplyDeleteSo nice you could go to church. And so nice that your father ate a bit! It is important that babies eat and when people get older you have to watch out that they eat too again.
We will dye Easter eggs today before going to church this afternoon.
i think we'll dye eggs tomorrow. i was happy to find a vegetable dye kit in whole foods. i've been wanting to try them.

Deleteoh nice!!! it's from natural earth paint in oregon. usually i do beets, onion skins, cabbage and tumeric at home. it'll be fun to see what this is like tomorrow.
DeleteI gave you the link in my comment on my blog. We have those from Natural Earth Paint before too. I do not remember how I liked them. There is also another company, Eco-Kids, that makes Easter egg dye. We have had those too.
