a thursday breakfast and a birthday tea

i was out early this morning for an acupuncturist appointment. i've been trying to alleviate my tooth pain along with peri-menopausal symptoms. it has been helpful and i enjoy the sessions. the walk this morning was especially spring-like and warmly beautiful. i only wore a sweater.

new shoes from a half off sale at fly of london (a new store on bleecker street).

everyone has been planting flowers in their sidewalk tree pits.

it's really an early spring this year; especially compared to prior years.

back at home: breakfast with chanda.

fried eggs, applegate chicken/apple sausage and oatcakes with grape butter (i can eat the grape butter by the spoonful!).

this is lunch . . minestrone soup with fig bread from eataly.

i made it with tomatoes which i haven't done in awhile because morgana can't have tomatoes. the last time she went to europe she had just come off the gaps diet and was able to eat citrus and tomatoes in norway and london and austria. however, this time she has not been on a special diet and she's wondering how long she has to be there before her body can tolerate citrus and tomatoes again.

she arrived at gatwick airport at ten am this morning and took a train to london where she met camille for camille's birthday tea. happy birthday camille! (camille had traveled by bus and ferry from paris.)

it looks so good!

  1. Now you only have one child left at home . . . (at least for a while). That must feel so strange. I will be without two of my students while Peter is gone. They are participating in his course.
