walkaround vermeer tech rehearsal

today was tech for the vermeer dance . . inspired by the paintings of johannes vermeer, chanda's dance teacher created this piece in 1984 with the help of her then partner, artist george deem (who also had an extensive dance resume, seen here).

one of the opening dances, all to music by bach.

chanda is dancing the part of the girl in: the glass of wine, which morgana, created five years ago. she's happy to be stepping into her older sister's shoes and while she is being herself, she's also doing a character study of morgana and having a grand time copying her sister's movements to the best of her ability (she comes out at 16 sec).

since there weren't enough girls in the class, ellen asked one of her older students to play vermeer - our good friend deychen. (this is a part korrina played in 2008 - you can see her filling in as vermeer for morgana's tech rehearsal in 2010 here.)

this was my third time watching a tech of ellen's walkaround vermeer!

finally home at 7:30 . . dinner was linguini with clam sauce and a salad.
