it was a grey day we walked out to for the last waldorf coop group class this morning. i wondered if it would rain and wash out the planned afternoon picnic.
while settling in and waiting for svetlana, everyone arranged their book pages.
then while svetlana reviewed work from last week's class . .
katie and i began poking holes in the pages for the book binding. this wasn't as difficult as i thought it would be.
books waiting patiently . .
katie preparing lunch . .
finally time to sew the pages together . .
the trick is to make sure you work the awl long enough to create a decent size hole for sewing.
sharing: teacher held up each completed book and the student talked about their favorite lesson and page.
a year's work all bound up!
then it was finally time to have lunch in the park.
a scrumptious fare: lemonade, potato pie made by svetlana's mom, mozzarella sandwiches, rice paper veggie wraps, egg salad and crackers, and veniero's canolis.
oh, and chocolates from kazakhstan. it felt good to be out in the park all afternoon. the young people played a lot of games and chanda commented on how she missed morgana's annual prospect park birthday parties . .
