lunch with korrina

 korrina always remembers to bring her green veggie bags to put her loose, wet produce in from the fresh food box pick-up site. 

 she even remembered a cooler this time too!

 i shove everything into my floppy bag and, unfortunately, the fruit usually gets squished and mushy (those peaches!)

 we walked to eataly after getting our vegetables, and then decided to visit al vicoletto, a lovely family owned italian restaurant my friend jeanette discovered when she first moved to manhattan (about five years ago!). we shared a fresh spring greens and beet salad and a prosciutto cheese plate. everything was delicious!

 they also have very good sangria.

we had the nicest server who treated us to butter cookies for dessert.

 directly next door to al vicoletto is a new little asian market store.

 here we're exclaiming over the asian ice cream and wondering where the frozen mochi are . .

at first i thought this beautiful bluebird platter read $12.14 . . but korrina pointed out that it was really $121.49 . . ah well.

all the american ballet theatre summer intensive ballerinas were walking by as we surveyed the sidewalk bookstore. classes must have just let out (it was about 5 pm, i think).

 then she got on the train and i walked home past whole foods on 14th street . .

 to fifth avenue . . 

 past hu kitchen . . (paleo lasagna!)

to joe for an iced mocha to get me the rest of the way home . . it actually hasn't been too hot these past few days, and the humidity has been lower . .

 i came home to a very sick greg . . he's had a fever all week and has been recording it . . i finally talked him out of taking ibuprofen (which he's been doing so he can manage taking work related calls) and letting the fever run its course so he can get well! he had already been to see a doctor about it on monday. she said it was the flu, which can incubate in the dry air we've been having . . dry air and flu, or high humidity and soporific days . . i guess it's always something . .
