we received two christmas packages yesterday. one was for all of us and had the loveliest santa which now graces our windowsill.
and one was for morgana which held the most adorable little mushroom . . thank you so much eva and family, for adding a little bit of christmas into our day!

ReplyDeleteIsn't he cute? The lady who made him is the daughter of a woodworking artist. He makes lots of birds. He has seen Jonathan growing up and told me last month how impressed he has always been with Jonathan's knowledge in birding. Each time we would see this woodworking artist, Jonathan would ask about his newest additions (species) to the birds he makes. And Jonathan always spotted the new ones right away. The artist told me he will never forget Jonathan's sustained interest in his art over so many years :). I think he was very touched by it.
DeleteAnd the mushroom was made by the mother of one of my German students. The mother is a clay artist! I am glad the mushroom did not break. Did Morgana find Flora's picture?
P.S. Our soap eating mouse is back! We got some beautiful bars of soap from Peter's brother for Christmas, but yesterday we discovered that they have been bitten into! Now, we set the trap in the soap drawer. And Jonathan took out the dishwasher to see if he could replace a broken spring. Guess what has happened to the insulation: Eaten (or taken) by mice. Unfortunately, we cannot replace the spring by ourselves (it holds the door up). Now we know that there is not much insulation left, though :).
