don't blink you might miss the snow
chanda and i had an argument this afternoon. she said it was snowing. i said it was raining. dizzly snow. it really felt like rain to me. at least it was cold outside.
Funny, we had the same discussion here, just the children among each other, though. They thought it was "Graupel," a mix of rain and snow. There is no good English word for this! So maybe you were both right:).

hello eva . . maybe "sleet" is the english equivalent? or does that imply too much ice compared to graupel? i didn't call it sleet because for me sleet is sharper and bigger . . these were the tiniest snowflakes . . i should have tried to catch one.

No, sleet is wetter, "graupel" is like tiny little round things coming down from the sky. It's not hail either, but much softer.
