we made good time getting to connecticut this morning. we left at about 8:30 and arrived by 11 am. we had an early thanksgiving dinner, beginning with delicious pumpkin soup. then we celebrated chanda's birthday and she received two chronicles of narnia movies: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe, and prince caspian. we ended the evening playing a round of charades using quotations rather than movies and books, as we usually do. i was very tired, and was glad to finally go to sleep! maybe i was just so full of turkey and apple pie and gingerbread . .by day the blue will pale down into white where it touches the white of the land, after sunset it has a new circumference-orange, melting upwards into tenderest purple. but the core of blue persists, and so it is by night. then the stars hang like lamps from the immense vault. the distance between the vault and them is as nothing to the distance behind them, and that farther distance, though beyond colour, last freed itself from blue. -e.m. forster (a passage to india)
