the tree and monday's chores

slowly the chores are getting done in preparation for christmas. i still need to wrap some gifts and take some to the post office (i found chocolate peanut clusters at the see's candy shop on eighth street for the austrian host family that i had wanted to bring with me in september but couldn't find). today was laundry day but there are still sheets and blankets that didn't make it in that need to be done tomorrow. the tree has its lights on but needs ornaments. i made cookie dough from the horn of the moon cookbook that morgan will roll out tomorrow morning and then bake. (morgan has been babysitting for a woman who has seven year old twin boys and lives at the ritz hotel. it's kind of like eloise at the plaza.) and today chanda came over to stay for the week with pluto. it's taking some time for all the cats to be acquainted. cricket is just curious and would like to play. zuzu is more cautious and stands her ground while hissing. pluto feels very stressed and angrily hisses and can give a warning swat without striking. it's a little tense. i think it's hard for pluto because he remembers this as his home, but there are two strange cats now! he never really learned to be friendly as when he was a kitten and our cat madeline was still around, she would always hiss angrily at him. he currently lives with a cat named melvin and though they aren't always fighting, melvin often lashes out or bops him on the head. here's hoping they work things out as we would love for him to visit often. with chanda too of course.

last night i fixed the second bedroom for chanda since morgan is now in the room chanda last had. greg also has his desk in here (for working at home tuesdays and fridays).

all cozy . .
