colder days now

we drove out east this weekend. it was very grey and felt cold, but that didn't deter the surfers . . 

we went into town to pick up tacos and quesadillas and rice and beans for dinner . . the point's holiday lights are always so pretty.

cricket likes to have a spot that gives him a good lay of the land.

sunday brunch at the local pancake house . . . i had wanted to eat at the health food store (they finally are allowing indoor dining) but they were no longer offering oatmeal (which was always so good with maple syrup, blueberries and walnuts) and they also weren't serving weekend breakfast past 11 am . . two very odd things which had me questioning their business intelligence. so, we decided to try a pancake house we hadn't been to in a very long time . . 

coffee (decaf this morning)

half and half . . not just cream and not just milk . . i think this is a very american thing . . maybe canadian too?

oatmeal . . 

morgan's pancakes and eggs and sausage . .

waiting for their second breakfast . . or maybe their first lunch (is cricket secretly a vulture and not a cat?)

heading home . . 

but first stopping to show morgan the knitting store and to pick up a skein of sock yarn dyed by the shop owner, christine. i did put up a few christmas lights on the front stoop railing, but forgot to take a photo. i'll have to do so on the next visit.
