greg, chanda and i spent the weekend working on my parents' house, getting it ready to rent this summer. it was cold on saturday, and steamy, hot and hazy on sunday.
while chanda and i cleared out closets and drawers, greg painted the trim in several spots (my nephew had patched up some spots that needed staining several weeks ago, and the whole house was re-stained last summer).
chanda also worked on a physics experiment about refraction.
talking with greg about the experiment.
after working all day we treated ourselves to a dinner at the dock . .
it felt so good to sit and look out at the water . .
and eat delicious seafood . .
from this morning: taking time to do ballet poses in the tree (c likes to do instagram pics on my phone now).
we had to leave by noon today to get her back in time for an end of year ballet recital rehearsal. consequently, we were all up early (6 am) to finish chores around the house.
it was hard to leave . .
and sit in a stuffy car . . there was a lot of traffic once we got on the parkway . . but thankfully it cleared after passing the airport.
the amazing verrazano . .
and back in the village again with the old jefferson market courthouse on the left (now the library) and the empire on the right. greg and i dropped her off and then unloaded the car. i was supposed to help out with the rehearsal, but there wasn't much to do with the younger dancers finished and gone, so the volunteer moms sat in the hallway and talked . . much too loud as it turned out. the ballet teacher had to close the door on us.
afterwards, we met up with korrina for dinner together. here chanda is showing off to morgana that she's using her book bag . .
perusing the menu . .
of cafe nadery, a new persian cafe on west 8th street.
