by day the blue will pale down into white where it touches the white of the land, after sunset it has a new circumference-orange, melting upwards into tenderest purple. but the core of blue persists, and so it is by night. then the stars hang like lamps from the immense vault. the distance between the vault and them is as nothing to the distance behind them, and that farther distance, though beyond colour, last freed itself from blue. -e.m. forster (a passage to india)

waiting for the hiccups to pass
brunch today . . chanda is waiting for her hiccups to subside. she and greg tend to get the hiccups and they tend to alleviate them in the same manner . . !
Oh, yes! I have done that when I've had the hiccups! I swallow the sugar in one gulp! I guess it's kind of silly, but it has worked for me! What have you done? Resting their diaphragms helps Greg and Chanda . . I once jumped out and scared Greg when he had hiccups and that worked too. I don't do that anymore though, :D
Ha, ha, Peter once advised me eat a teaspoonful of sugar, followed by a cup of water, some kind of home remedy in his family. It did not work for me!
