zuzu and . .
cricket . . keeping an eye on anything that flits by . .
everything has frozen as it's in the mid 20's today.
greg worked from home and we had lunch together (my plate is reminiscent of my breakfasts at gail's cafe in london on the fulham road where i would get a salami sandwich on a small brioche roll with a pickle).
here are a few pieces from my clay creche that my mom bought for me years ago when greg and i first moved to the neighborhood. there was a lovely shop on west 10th street, across from jefferson market library that sold beautiful pottery from local artisans and from south america. so far the cats are leaving it alone, so i might add the rest of the figures.
and on the piano . .
greg made deviled eggs this evening to take to his holiday work party tomorrow. he even walked to the container store for three medium size containers to put them in.
they look very yummy!
i mainly packed a small padded envelope for london today . . it takes me ages to do and it will supposedly take three weeks to get there.

I walked past my local Gail’s last weekend- I could not believe the queue

Oh, that happens here too at certain places!
DeleteSuch nice decorations! You are lucky that your cats leave things alone. Leo always tries to tear things down. And yesterday, he caught a wren in our garage and brought it upstairs! The girls were putting the garbage cans back into the garage, and the wren must have flown inside. Somehow Leo found it and brought it upstairs into the house! They thought he had caught a mouse, but then they saw two birds' feet sticking out of his mouth. He had not hurt and it flew away in the house, but back downstairs to the garage. After a lot of chasing and putting Leo into an upstairs bedroom, the wren finally ended up outside again. I was on campus, and Peter was trying to get Charlotte in Buffalo, but the story they told me was too crazy.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I remember stories like that from when we lived in Brooklyn, on the ground floor of a townhouse and our cat Hermione would always find a bird to catch. A few times the chase with the bird would be inside as we often left the back door open to the garden. I'm glad they were able to let the wren escape, though I'm sure Leo enjoyed the excitement!
DeleteLeo kept trying to find "his wren" and was very upset it was gone :).
DeleteOh, that's funny . . I can just imagine him hunting around for it!
DeleteP.S. Greg's eggs look good!
ReplyDeleteThey were all eaten, which pleased him greatly!
