greg's much more methodical than i in terms of our lawn mowing styles.
i knew i would eventually have to pull the stove out and clean along the sides, as i had noticed during our first visit after the tenants had left, that a lot of food was stuck in the cracks. unfortunately, since i had procrastinated, summertime ants found the stash and beat me to it. so i not only had food to clean, but ants to . . get rid of, to put it gently. lesson learned: clean food immediately before the ants arrive and have to be decimated.
the town was so crowded with the summertime weekend visitors that we decided to cook for ourselves, and stopped for supplies at the local health food store (which, thankfully, wasn't too busy).

(it's raining as i write this, with that lovely rainy, earthy aroma floating in through the windows.)
Is it a gas mower? Is it hard to push? Too bad about the ants! They seem to be everywhere . . . Are you planning to use the house yourself now? It is raining here, quite a thunderstorm with flood warning. My laptop is working again. I got it back today.
ReplyDeleteHooray for the laptop getting fixed! It is a gas mower, but it's not too difficult to push as it has a special propulsion when you pull down on the top bar. It's a good mower. Yes, we would like to use the house now, but we hope to be able to find summer renters each year, for July and August or at least one of those months. We'll work on it this summer and hopefully find a family for next summer. That's what my parents would do, and then they would travel and see friends and family during the time it was occupied.
