saturday morning, greg and i picked korrina up in queens and drive out to montauk to check on the house since the tenants have left.
we had a wonderful afternoon visit to the beach.
i fell asleep . . i always feel that i have the best sleep when lying in the sun on the sand with the waves crashing at my feet (these are korrina's feet, however).
making dinner . .
we stopped at the dock for clams . . steamers weren't available yet . .
and had organic hot dogs we found at the local iga, along with grass fed beef and broccoli salad from the king kullen supermarket in bridgehampton . . and salads from herb's market in town (our favorites: cole slaw and potato salad).
playing may i . .
we all did well . . but greg did the best and went out twice without points.
our dessert . .
we cleaned up a few items the tenants had left and did a small load of laundry and then headed home this afternoon. we stopped for lunch at hampton chutney and had a picnic on the lawn in front of the car. we had to order with our phone and then they called us through the shop door when the food was ready. everyone was wearing masks and practicing social distancing. we had to stop at hampton coffee on the way home as starbuck's in bridgehampton wasn't allowing anyone into the store, and i had to use a bathroom. thankfully, hampton coffee had a good system in place where you entered with you mask on, ordered from the cashier, and received a cup that you could fill yourself. and their restroom was available. perfetto. we dropped korrina off at home around 5:30 and were home by 6 pm. there wasn't any traffic along the brooklyn queens expresssway . . very strange, but i suppose not surprising under the circumstances.
chanda finished the sweater she was knitting.
it's grace by denise bayron with quince and co osprey yarn.

You must have been so happy to get to Montauk! Almost like a normal trip, right? And Chanda's sweater is beautiful! Were there any people at the beach?
ReplyDeleteYes, there actually were a number of people at the beach, but we were all able to distance ourselves appropriately. It wasn't over crowded, which I was thankful for. And it was so wonderful to be there. I don't think I sat on the beach at all last summer!
DeleteChanda says thank you :)
It must have felt so good to just breathe in the fresh air!
DeleteYes, and it's fun watching the surfers who all look like seals in the water in their wet suits :)
DeleteIsn't it too cold for them?
DeleteSurfers are very hardy!!! And those wet suits must work well :)
