a quick note

i was finally up early this morning, but now it's already 8 am and i need to wake chanda so she can get ready for her dance class. morgana was out at 6:30 to meet her friend for tea before heading to the civil courthouse for a day of jury duty. greg finally went back to work this morning also. he was home sick every day last week! the girls have been busy rehearsing for their dance performance this weekend, which my sister and brother-in-law will come into town for on saturday, which is also the day of the women's march. morgana and i have been shopping for gifts for her little austrian host family sisters. we went to gymboree yesterday and picked out two outfits for the two youngest girls (six and ten years old) with several point cards i had received in the mail. we also had friends over for dinner last night, and the night before their dance teacher, ellen, came over to wait for a leotard that i had been dyeing bright yellow for her. she has a little bumblebee dancing in her family matters program (chanda and morgana are dancing in her alumni program). this is the first morning i was able to get up so early. i've been going to sleep consistently at 1 am and waking at 4 am, and then falling back to sleep at 5:30 am . . which puts me still in bed at 8:30 am . . at which point i finally wake and get up in frustration that i haven't managed to get up before everyone else to have some alone time on the computer. last night i fell asleep at 10:30 pm, and slept until greg's alarm went off this morning at 5:30 . . seven hours of sleep. i feel so wonderfully rested.

time now to feed cats and get chanda up for class.

  1. You have a lot going on! Dave swears by sour cherries to help him sleep they contain either melatonin or tryptophan. He has three dessertspoons an hour before bed. It has been a really dark day weather wise with rain, snow and hail. Just waiting for tea to finish cooking big hugs xx

    1. Hi San, thanks so much for the sour cherry tip. Does he eat whole cherries, (we can get frozen organic ones from our health food store), or does he drink spoonfuls of the juice? Or does he do concentrate?
