ballet/dance intensive and summer solstice

the dance demonstrations were held in the black box theatre at dance new amsterdam (where the classes were also held).

 ballet . . 

lester horton technique . . modern dance. this was my favorite demonstration. i liked the fluidity of the movement, and i liked the eeriness of the music. chanda is the dancer on the left.

hip hop! chanda and francesca were not looking forward to this, but they ended up having fun and i liked they way they both ended . . on their heads!

flamenco . .

and jazz, or more specifically: fosse!

 eudocia, chanda, zoe, francesca, a new friend from canada, isabella (francesca's little sister) and enoch.

 all week the girls have been wanting to shop at the housing works thrift store on chambers street that we always pass on our way to the train. today they finally got to go in . . and they all found fun items to buy. chanda found a black dress that would be nice for the nutcracker gala in the winter and i found a summer scarf . .

 chanda and i wanted to get gelato, so we said good-bye to our friends and walked to grom on father demo square at bleecker and carmine streets . . 

afterwards, we stopped at health and harmony for taco ingredients . . 

a perfect summer solstice dinner! look out for the perigee moon that is coming this weekend!
